Memory of a Life Well Spent

My latest project and entry #116 into the CSI Color Challenge.

This photo was taken after my Grandpa’s funeral last fall. His three sons (my dad is on the left) are sitting on the bench. Their families are all standing behind them. The boys are holding the wedding picture of my Grandma and Grandpa.

To make the page I used the Cricut and the Rock Princess cartridge to cut out the hearts and the roses. I didn’t have any red mists, so I made my own. I got a package of three mini misters for $4.99 (less 40% with my coupon from Joann’s) and made my own. I put a small amount of red acrylic paint into the mini mister and added a little bit of water. I shook to mix the paint and then filled the mister the rest of the way with water. It worked perfectly. The main concern when making your own mist it so buy a high quality mister bottle with a good sprayer. Acrylic paint is often $1.00 or less a bottle and comes in matte, metallic, pearlescent and glossy. Provides a lot of options.

The border around the inside black background page was made with the Marta Stewart Around the Page punch “Cherish.” It is quite versatile and I love it 🙂
