We live states away from DH’s parents so we take whatever excuse possible to have fun together. When DH’s cousin got married – we all got to meet in Minneapolis for a weekend. Which of course meant a Minnesota Twins game was on the agenda. DD loved getting to watch the game with her Grandma and Grandpa – especially while eating popcorn.
This layout was inspired by the mood board challenge at Scrap Africa. The mood board challenge is full of beautiful red inspiration!
The background paper reminded me of the horizontal lines that are on the cake. The color red and flowers were all over the layout and the black accent came in from the bridesmaid dresses in the bottom image and chocolate covered strawberries.
All the images reminded me of festive occasions where people gather and enjoy family which was the reason we were together to take the photo that is featured in the layout.
Here are some close-ups!
I love the way the hand stitching turned out….mimics the stitching found on the baseball. The red flowers are Heartfelt Creations poppies (a definite guilty pleasure…my Heartfelt Creations flower stamps and dies). The background was completed with some splatters of red and black mists and then some stamping with Staz-On with some grungy alphabet stamps to match the background paper. The diamonds came from the die cut……they reminded me of the baseball diamond so I kept them and scattered them around the page.
Thank you for looking!
